  1. Oh, thank you so much for the wonderful paintings of 19th century American life.
    I do love the watercolors and paintings of Winslow Homer, Mary Cassett, and John Singer Sargent. The Cummer Museum of Jacksonville has a very small watercolor that Homer did of a St. John's River scene...that is a prized possession...
    And when in Boston in 1984, I went to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum just to see Sargent's six foot portrait of her. That was before the Great I had other reasons to be glad I visited there.
